Commander Force Command Northern Areas, Major General Ikram Ul Haq was the chief guest on the occasion.
At the closing ceremony of 6th Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Ski Cup, skiers from different teams demonstrated their skills by displaying their mastery in various skiing maneuvers.
Later Major General Ikram Ul Haq awarded medals and prizes to the prominent skiers of the tournament besides giving away the coveted trophy to the team captain of PAF Skiing team. At this occasion chief guest also announced three Lac Rupees for National Ski Federation on behalf of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff.
A total of twelve teams vigorously contested for the prestigious Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee trophy. In Giant Slalom event Sepoy Zia Jan of Pakistan Army won gold medal, Liaqat and Senior Tech Muhammad Abbas of PAF received silver and bronze medals respectively. In Super Giant event, Senior Tech Sawar Khan of PAF won gold medals, Sepoy Abdullah Jan of Pakistan Army won silver medal and Liaqat of PAF won bronze medal.
It is worth mentioning that skiing in Pakistan, remained largely under developed until the creation of Ski Federation of Pakistan which was founded in December 1990. Due to dedicated efforts of the federation skiing became accessible to the youth from all across the country and training and participation for competitive skiing was offered to all.
A large number of Armed Forces officers and game lovers witnessed at the closing ceremony.
