Tehrik-e-Taliban threaten suicide bomb attacks in Pakistan
The Pakistani Taliban on Monday warned that it would use a team of suicide bombers to target troops if any military operations are launched against militants in the restive North Waziristan tribal region bordering Afghanistan.
In a statement emailed to the media, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan spokesperson Ihsanullah Ihsan said “his organization had learnt that the Pakistan Army had drawn up plans for an operation in North Waziristan Agency in the near future.”
Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (the TTP) (Student Movement of Pakistan), alternatively referred to as the Pakistani Taliban, is an umbrella organization of various Islamist militant groups based in the northwestern Federally Administered Tribal Areas along the Afghan border in Pakistan. Most, but not all, Pakistani Taliban groups coalesce under the TTP. They command a network of thousands of fighters in Wazristan.
